Therapy

Therapy can be beneficial for dealing with the challenges of life; both the ongoing and the sudden.

Kinship provides a safe, confidential space where difficulties can be explored, to help you move beyond coping to a place of peace.

We may feel lost, overwhelmed, or dissatisfied for a time before we decide to seek help. It takes courage to ask for support, and begin the process of change.

We believe that no two people are exactly alike, which means treatments are tailored to the individual through a Humanistic Integrative Approach. Our therapists use evidence-based methods and are fully accredited. We attend regular supervision in order to maintain the highest standard of care.

Individual Psychotherapy & Counselling

Personal Therapy explores any issues in your life that you wish to address.

Each person has their own unique way of engaging in this process. Our integrative approach allows for individuality. Working in a supportive, warm, caring, and non-judgmental environment can equip you to engage with your struggle as you discover alternative approaches to moving forward.

Areas of focus may include but are not limited to:

  • stress, anxiety, and depression

  • transitions and loss

  • chronic illness

  • trauma

  • abuse

  • sexuality

  • relationship challenges

  • loneliness

  • finding meaning

Students

Kinship works with students aged 16 and up. This time of self-discovery can be exciting for some and difficult for others. As students attempt to make big decisions and deal with pressure, feelings of anxiety and overwhelm are often present. These can be intensified as they mature and become independent, or due to a change in circumstances.

Our therapists equip students to plan for the future and develop a strong internal compass to navigate their lives.

Nature Therapy

Over the last decade, there has been an increased therapy movement into natural spaces, known as Nature Therapy or Ecotherapy. Alongside this, there has been a recognition in the medical field of the benefits of being outdoors.

Have you ever gone for a walk to ‘clear your head’? Nature therapy incorporates this cathartic response to nature and utilizes it within the therapy process.

Agreements are put in place with clients to ensure the privacy and safety needed to protect the therapeutic process while outdoors.
